My name is Ruth and I’m from a wonderfully creative family, making and sewing things from a very young age. Throughout my life I have loved to express myself creatively, whether it's clothes for myself and my family or decorating and making soft furnishings for my home. Throw in some baking, furniture upcycling and gardening and there is almost no part of my life that hasn't been touched by the creative gene I inherited.
As my three children grew up, I was able to gain professional experience in a retail environment offering dressmaking, alteration and bespoke soft furnishing services. This gave me an insight into the other side of a working business.
Ultimately, Saves Nine has grown of this passion and the desire to share it with others. It started on my kitchen table as a lot of ideas do, but is now housed in a sunny garden studio in Brampton, Cambridgeshire.
I now have plenty of experience teaching all ages, both one-to-one and in groups, and have covered many areas of craft and sewing. My aim is to give a good foundation to anyone who wishes to start out on - or go back to - their sewing journey.
